In case you have not noticed or yet aware of what is happening in the House of Representatives, on this past Wednesday the Democrats started staging a “sit-in†or in their case a temper tantrum on the floor.
And take a wild guess on what the issues of this protest was? It was because the House GOP refused to vote on one of the gun control bills that had bee tossed by the Senate only a day earlier. The Democrats wanted to vote on a blanket man on firearms sales to any individual that is on the terror watch lists or any list they deem so.  This blanket ban is done with no due process or recourse for those individuals wrongly placed on these lists.
By doing this the Democrats took a page out of their useful idiot’s playbooks of the Black Lives Matter and Occupy movement’s playbook. A contingent of House Democrats disrupted the usual business, violated the decorum and the rules of the lower House chamber, whoever opposed their protest also known as a temper tantrum was shouted down, and have refused to leave until they get the demands they want.
While the liberal media like CNN loves this publicity stunt, not everyone is amused or impressed by this. The list includes the South Carolina Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy, who took to his Facebook page to make a very important point and posed a relevant question and that question was “How will what they are demanding make us safer?â€
In his Facebook post, Trey Gowdy said:
“Democrat members are certainly free to stage a sit-in and shut down House floor activities as they have done. What would be infinitely more productive would be asking this Administration and the Department of Justice in particular why a prosecution of current gun law violations has decreased under their watch. There are already broad categories of persons prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition and those lists go largely without prosecution. Now House Democrats are asking for yet another list of persons – this time without any due process rights – so this Administration can fail to enforce that list of laws too. How does that make us safer?â€
Gowdy nailed it perfectly when he stated that there are a significant number of gun control laws already on the books not being used and that the Democrats are demanding something nothing that would keep us any safer.
This is nothing more than a disgusting and blatant attempt to exploit a terrible tragedy to raise money off of innocent spilled blood while demanding new laws that will not prevent blood from being spilled again.
The Democrats that participate in this so called sit-in should be ashamed, if they had any shame to begin with. The problem is not more gun control but less government control.
