For those who do not know, Operation Mockingbird was a secret campaign by the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to influence media. Begun in the 1950s, it was initially organized by Cord Meyer and Allen W. Dulles and was later led by Frank Wisner after Dulles became the head of the CIA. The organization recruited leading American journalists into a network to help present the CIA’s views, and funded some student and cultural organizations, and magazines as fronts.
To people who knows what is going on, Operation Mockingbird is alive and well by the way of the internet. It is interesting how the dissemination of information to the masses has quickly evolved so quickly over the past century.
Back when our country was established, information was first distributed by newspapers and pamphlets. Besides word of mouth within a community, the newspaper was the main way the public was given information about current events, human tragedies, world wars, or whatever other affliction were plaguing society at the time.
With the 1920’s came in and with that it ushers in a new invention called the radio. This new source of delivering information would be in calm even voices delivering the news about local, national, and world events over the airwaves.
The 1950’s brought in the invention of television in which three main networks are working tirelessly to give the public a window’s view into politics, wars, political assassinations, and man landing on the moon. It also brought forth tons of entertainment to keep the public distracted from what was really going on behind the scenes. With such an overwhelming majority of the public allowing a box to become part of the household, the powers that be decides to crank up the level of level of intrusion up 1,000 notches with the introduction of cable TV. With the establishment of cable TV in which the public had to pay to have 24 hour news cycles and the first glimpses of the 80’s music videos.
The last three decades has seen an advance of technology beyond the wildest dreams. With the introduction of personal computers, smart phones, and tablets to satisfy the public’s insatiable appetite for constant news entertainment. People can no longer leave home without their device of choice and like an army the Millennials walk around like zombies staring down at the screen oblivious to what is going on in the world around them.
From the evolution of mass media and the introduction of the internet as brought us social networking and social media. Which can only be described as a place where people across the world being able to create and share content, engage, collaborate, and share their opinions on social media. Across the globe people have joined Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and several other dozen social media sites where people can join in mass. What this has showed us is that the world has become a small place indeed.
But what does these have to do with Operation Mockingbird you ask? To answer that you just have to look a couple weeks ago when Facebook was caught red handed trying to convince the public that their 1.6 billion users were all interested in Social Justice Warriors and Black Lives Matter.  That is just a bunch of nonsense.  But Facebook is not the only one who filters and censors its content.  It has been reported by Twitter users that their tweets was completely disappearing from their timelines. It has also been reported by people with YouTube channels started reporting that their viewer numbers where being reset every time one of their videos came close to trending or having one of their videos being removed entirely.
The internet was once a place where a vast variety of differing opinions and ideas could come together has now become a cesspool of carefully manipulated censorship and orchestrated agendas from the powers that be to manufacture stories that garner about 1% of the publics interest and then misrepresents it as being 99% of the news. And when you find out that only six mega corporations control over 90% of what we read, what we watch, and listen to.
As the picture becomes crystal clear, we are all reminded of the old CIA program, named Operation Mockingbird, is alive and well. It is time that we realize that this is a sham and we have to recognize the damage it has done and continue to do. It is on everyone’s shoulders to break the ones that are asleep out of the matrix.
